Catdoku: narrow the choices before placing a cat

Written for AXFLY. These are reasoning exercises based on the game description, not claims of tested level solutions.
Reading the supplied images
Images supplied to AXFLY on October 12, 2026. These picture notes describe visible details; image provenance and correspondence with the live version have not been independently verified. They are not a tested level walkthrough.

Separate selection from a committed answer
The Level 12 image has a blue selected cell and a palette of cat faces beneath the board. Selection tells you where an action would apply; it does not tell you which face belongs there. Before selecting a face, read the live game rules and compare the relevant row, column or region only if those constraints actually apply.
Notes are a record of possibilities
In the Level 27 image, Notes is switched on and some cells contain small numbers. The selected cell shows several marks rather than a single cat. Use notes to preserve options while you inspect another cell. Do not infer the number-to-cat mapping from the artwork alone; establish it from the live tutorial or the actual palette behavior.
Remove an option for a specific reason
A useful note update identifies both the option removed and the constraint excluding it. If a row rule applies, a confirmed placement may eliminate a matching option elsewhere in that row. If the live game uses a different rule, apply that instead. This method avoids converting an uncertain guess into a permanent answer simply because a cell is highlighted.
A completion image is not a solution sequence
The third picture carries a Puzzle Solved message at Level 28. It is a different labelled level from the first two, so it cannot verify their candidate choices or explain how their boards were completed. The supplied artwork also does not establish a standard Sudoku grid. A reproducible walkthrough needs the actual starting board, rules and intermediate moves.
